This policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information relating to California residents that is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the “CCPA”), related implementing regulations, and other California privacy laws, as applicable.
This Privacy Policy addresses our information handling practices associated with our operations in the United States, including our storage solutions, physical locations, websites located at https://www.westportproperties.net/ and https://www.usstoragecenters.com, mobile apps, and information we collect at other locations or events under our name (collectively, our “Services”). By using our Services, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information consistent with this Policy and applicable privacy and data protection laws.

We have collected and disclosed for a business purpose the following categories of personal information about California residents in the preceding 12 months:
Identifiers, such as your name and contact information, alternative tenants’ names and contact information, driver’s license, passport number, and Social Security number. We collect information necessary from you to provide you with the storage solutions or Services you have requested. We use this information to manage your relationship with us, for marketing purposes, security and fraud prevention, and to improve our services. Please note, if you provide us with information of alternative contact person(s) and/or authorized users, you must first obtain that person’s consent and advise them of this Privacy Policy. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers.
Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)), such as your name, signature, Social Security number, address, telephone number, passport number, driver’s license or state identification card number, insurance policy number or information, education, employment, employment history, bank account number, credit card number, debit card number, or any other financial information, medical information, or health insurance information. We collect this information from you when you provide your contact information to us, sign up to receive information from us, contact us, use our storage solutions or other Services, or when you apply for a job with us or become our employee. This information is used for the purposes of communicating with you, to provide you with Services or information you have requested from us, to provide you with information relevant to your storage solution needs, and to manage your relationship with us. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers.
Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law, such as your age, race, color, sex, and veteran or military status. We collect this information from you when you use our storage solutions or other Services, apply for a job with us or become our employee. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers, such as payment processing and data storage and processing providers.
Commercial information, such as your payment and credit card or bank information. We collect this information from you when you pay for our storage solutions or other Services in order to process your payment and provide you with Services you requested. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers, such as payment processing and data storage and processing providers.
Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with our website or mobile application. We collect information from you when you visit our website using cookies, beacons and similar technologies, as described in our Cookie Policy below. The information collected includes your Internet Protocol address, the type of browser and operating system you used to access our website, the date and time of your visit, the pages you visited, any previous website you accessed to reach our website, and subsequent websites you visit. We use this information to improve your experience on our website, to track visits to our website, and to analyze how visitors move about the pages. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers who manage our website, analyze activity on our website, and audit it for security purposes.
Geolocation, audio, electronic, visual or other similar information, such as video images of you on our security cameras or voice data from recorded calls. We collect this information from you when you visit our locations or call us. We use this information to provide you with and improve our Services and for security and fraud prevention. We have disclosed this information to our Service Providers, such as data storage and processing providers and our service providers who manage our website and assign it with relationship management and marketing.
Professional or employment-related information, such as your resume, interview records, identity documents for work eligibility verification in the United States, employment dates, position, salary, benefits information, performance evaluations and employee relations information. We collect this information from you when you apply for a job with us or become our employee. We provide you with information about the specific categories of information we collect and how the information is used and processed in a separate notice and as further detailed in our employee manual.
In addition to the above listed purposes, we may disclose personal information as necessary to comply with a legal subpoena or court order, in connection with our legal rights and obligations, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or other transaction involving our company, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.
No Sharing or Selling of Personal Information with Third Parties
We do not “sell” or “share” your personal information (as such terms are defined by the CCPA). Therefore, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under the age of 16.

Our websites offer publicly accessible blogs or community forums. Please note that any information you choose to provide on these blogs and forums may be accessed by others.
Compliance with Section 7027(m)
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by law and specified in Section 7027(m) of the implementing regulations of the CCPA. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
SMS Messages
By providing your phone number to us, you agree and acknowledge that we may send text messages to your wireless phone number for the purposes of communicating with you, providing our Services to you, and marketing or advertising purposes. Message and data rates may apply. We will only send one SMS as a reply to you, and you will be able to opt-out at any time by replying “STOP”. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Our Cookie Policy
Cookies. We and our advertising partners may use “cookies.” When you use our website, the pages you see, along with “cookies,” may be downloaded to your computer or other device that you use to access our website. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your device or computer. These cookies may be used to deliver content specific to your interests and for other purposes, such as security and administrative functions. For example, US Storage Centers works with third parties to provide you helpful messaging in your mobile app when you come to our stores. For any mobile application to identify your location, you must enable location services through your mobile device’s settings. If you do not want us to collect location information, you can turn off location services on your mobile device. We have no control over your device’s settings.

To verify your identity, we may ask you to provide certain information as proof of your identity such as your contact information, government issued ID, or date of birth, before we respond to your request.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request to know, delete, or correct on your behalf. If you designate an authorized agent to submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, we will require written documentation confirming your permission for the agent to act on your behalf. As permitted by law, we may take steps to verify your own identity in response to a request, even if you choose to use an agent. If we are unable to verify your identity or your agent’s authority to act on your behalf, we may deny your request.
Response Timing and Format
If you submit a request to know, delete, or correct your personal information, we will confirm receipt of your request no later than ten (10) business days of its receipt. We aim to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) calendar days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. Please note, we may refuse to act on your request if such request is manifestly unfounded or excessive or upon other grounds as permitted by law.

We retain the personal information we collect from you for only as long as necessary to carry out the purposes for which the information was collected as outlined in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with our recordkeeping policies (unless a longer period is required by applicable law). We will retain your information to the extent necessary to manage your relationship with us, including during the time your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and as otherwise described in this Policy.
